Laut dem US-Amerikanischen Wall Street Journal soll ein Bezahlsystem mit Modern Warfare 3 starten. Dieses zwingt euch dann monatliche Gebühren zu bezahlen um Modern Warfare 3 spielen zu dürfen. Besonders unangenehm ist die Situation für Xbox Live Abonnenten, da diese sowieso schon für Xbox Live bezahlen und dann auch noch für MW3 die Rechnungen bekommen. Außerdem zeigte die News des Magazins ein Video, aus dem sich vermuten lässt, dass dieses System auch für Black Ops nachgepatcht wird. Ob dies auch so zu 100% sein wird und wie viel man dann dafür bezahlen müsste, wird bestimmt in den nächsten Tagen bekannt gemacht. Fakt bleibt, wenn dies so eintrifft, wechsle ich für meinen Teil zu Battlefield 3. Jedoch kommt es dann in diesem Fall auch auf die Reaktion des Konsumenten an, da dann vielleicht EA nachziehen könnte, wenn viele Leute auf den Bezahldienst einsteigen.

UPDATE: Activision hat das Bezahlsystem bestätigt. Call of Duty: Elite soll das ganze heißen und startet zum Release von Modern Warfare 3 und übernimmt BLack Ops gleich mit. Stellt sich nur die Frage wie viele Vorteile man als Elite-Spieler gegenüber einem Spieler haben wird, der nicht für Call of Duty: Elite bezahlt.
